The Hyderabad-New Delhi bound AP Express scheduled to depart Hyderabad at 6.25 a.m. was cancelled on Sunday due to the delayed arrival of its pairing train from New Delhi.
South Central Railway (SCR) authorities had initially delayed the departure of AP Express to 11.15 a.m. from the city against the scheduled time but as the pairing train from New Delhi arrived very late on account of heavy fog in New Delhi, authorities were forced to cancel the train for Sunday. However, it would be operated as per schedule on Monday, said SCR spokesperson.
Meanwhile, chaos prevailed for a while at the Secunderabad railway station on Sunday afternoon when supporters of former Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy thronged platform no. 10 to see him off.
Mr. Reddy was heading to New Delhi in a special train that was scheduled to leave around 3.30 p.m. But confusion reigned as Falaknuma Express passengers heading to Howrah boarded the special train mistaking it to be Falaknuma Express.
In an effort to set things in order, the Railway police had to use mild force to control supporters of Mr. Reddy and the passengers too suffered in the melee. But, there was no caning and none was injured, claimed the spokesperson
