Show-cause notice was issued to consultancy firm

HYDERABAD: HUDA Chairman and Outer Ring Road Project Director D. Sudheer Reddy has asserted that it was not possible to change the ORR alignment for a price, as claimed by a field officer working in a consultancy firm.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy and ORR Project Director Piyush Kumar said a show-cause notice was issued to RV Associates and a case of cheating and extortion registered against Navin, an employee of RV Associates. He was accused of collecting money from a realtor for changing the ORR alignment to protect the latter's lands. No person responsible for any discrepancy would be spared, they said. The ORR PD had also ordered an inquiry into all the bits surveyed by Navin and the Chief Engineer was instructed to resurvey the area along the alignment. The report would be ready in three to four days.

Mr. Reddy maintained that consultancy firm employees worked under supervision of four different levels of officials. The Europe-based BCOM is the main consultant and RV Associates is its lead partner.
