KHAMMAM: Minister for Vaidya Vidhana Parishad Vanama Venkateswar Rao said on Tuesday that the loan waiver scheme implemented by the government renewed the hopes of the farmers, who were caught in the debt trap for years. Addressing the loan waiver mela he said the credit needs would be met by the banks by giving fresh advances. Waver certificates involving loans to the tune of Rs 7.35 crores were issued to 3,900 farmers at the mela in the day. Sujathanagar MLA Ramreddy Venkata Reddy and Collector Shashibhushan Kumar also spoke.
