With a view to provide unique exposure to students, a ‘CEO-Connect’ programme was held with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) vice-president and its regional head V. Rajanna at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS) for final year students here on Monday.
The event was organised by Information Technology and IT Enabled Services Industry Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITsAP) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in association KITS campus.
Mr. Rajanna presented a detailed account of the opportunities available in IT & ITES Industry and the overall employment scenario at the global level and in India. He interacted with the students and clarified their doubts.
He wanted the students to develop communication skills to succeed in their careers.
“There is good scope for development of more applications with the invention of third generation (3G) and fourth generation (4G) modes of communication,” he said.
The mobile phone industry was growing at a very fast rate and the Indian IT industry contributes to 7.5 per cent of India’s gross domestic product (GDP) and provides employment to nearly 12 million people; 2.7 million people directly and more than 9 million people indirectly, Mr. Rajanna explained.
