VISAKHAPATNAM: State Chief Electoral Officer V. Bhaskar, on Saturday wanted the candidates in fray for the April 24 by-election to the Visakha-I Assembly seat to follow the code of conduct set by the Election Commission.

Mr. Bhaskar, on reaching here from Hyderabad, held a meeting with the district officials and reviewed the arrangements being made for the election. He later met the candidates and representatives of political parties.

He also visited the MRO office and examined the Electronic Voting Machines and voter lists.

At the meeting with contestants and representatives of political parties, the CEO wanted them to extend their cooperation to polling officials. He also sought opinions and suggestions from them.

Collector Anil Kumar Singhal, Commissioner of Police V.S.K. Kaumudi, Returning Officer M.B. Kameswara Rao, Election Observers Mahendra Prakash Bidda and Narendra Kumar, District Revenue Officer S. Satyanarayana, and other officials were present.
