VIJAYAWADA: CEAT, one of the largest tyre companies, launched fleet excellence awards under the title “CEAT India Road Transportation Award” (CIRTA). As part of this, the company has already identified 15 big fleet operators in the city, including Navatha, Kranthi, Bharat Motors and so on.
CEAT zonal manager Gaurav Dhakar said on Thursday that there were nearly 60 transport companies that had fleets having more than 50 vehicles. Those who had not enrolled so far could do so on the website www.cirta.co.in. The awards were aimed at giving recognition to fleet owners who maintain quality in various aspects of the industry.
CEAT regional manager U.V.L. Narasimha Rao and territory leader P.V.N. Ayyappa Sreenivas said that the awards would be given at zonal level and also at the national level at a function to be held in Mumbai. The judge for this was Ernst and Young.
The awards will be given in four categories of road transportation – operational excellence, environment conservation, customer experience and personnel management.
