A fraud case has been registered against five postal, one LIC employee and some others of Nellore by the CBI, Visakhapatnam branch, here on Friday.
The accused T. Venkata Ramulu, a retired Sub-Record Officer, Nellore, P. Gautam Babu, the then marketing officer, J. Penchalaiah, marketing executive, Nellore RMS, Ch. Purushottam, sorting assistant, Nellore RMS and K. Raj Kumar, record assistant, LIC, Brindavan branch, Nellore, and some unknown others . The accused had entered into a criminal conspiracy to cheat the Postal Department between 2005 and 2012.
They opened two bank accounts with SBH and SBI in Nellore and unauthorisedly collected cheques issued from LIC and Sri Ram Chits, Nellore towards postage and other service charges and deposited them in the above bank accounts.
