CBI, Visakhapatnam branch, has registered a case of misappropriation of public money against four Postal Department employees of the Sub-Post Office at Yeleswaram in East Godavari district.

K. Rajendra Prasad, the then Sub-Postmaster, I. Satyanarayana and P. Appalaswamy, the then postal assistants and S. Veeraraju, Grameen Dak Sevak allegedly entered into a criminal conspiracy between October 21, 2009 and September 29, 2012. The Recurring Deposit (RD) amounts received through agents, collected from different depositors under Mahila Pradhan Kshetriya Bachat Yojana (MPKBY) was not allegedly submitted into the Post Office Accounts.

An amount of Rs.30,55,100 from 153 RD accounts was allegedly misappropriated, causing a loss to the Department and depositors, according to a statement by Deputy Inspector General, CBI, Visakhapatnam branch G. Nageswara Rao on Wednesday.
