The Central Bureau of Investigation has become a puppet not only in the hands of the Congress but also of the opposition Telugu Desam, since the latter is propping up the government, alleges YSR Congress Party leader Konathala Ramakrishna here.
The CBI must investigate the cases against YSR Congress leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, the Emmar properties, cases against TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu filed by YSRCP leader Y. Vijayayamma, the case filed by MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar against Margadarsi chitfund, Mr. Ramakrishna said at a press conference on Thursday.
A political conspiracy was being hatched by the Congress and the TDP to get Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy arrested. The CBI was not going ahead with cases and complaints pending against Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Home Minster M. Chidambaram in the 2G scam case or Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit in the Commonwealth Games case. The CBI had all of a sudden arrested Sunil Reddy, whose involvement was not known till now but it did not arrest Mr. Chandrababu Naidu whose government had allotted 530 acres to Emmar Properties in 2002 and the next year entered into an MoU allowing real estate business.
But, Mr. Naidu was not arrested, Mr. Ramakrishna said and demanded that an inquiry must be conducted into the allegation that all political parties were paid money by the Emmar.
Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy was continuing his tours because he was not scared of being arrested and already announced that he would cooperate with investigation, said Mr. Ramakrishna. On the other hand, Mr. Naidu was not so and his claims of getting clean chit from the courts was false since he had only obtained stay orders, he asserted.
Party leaders Zaheer Ahmed, Koyya Prasad Reddy, and Anga Appalaraju were also present.
