The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on Wednesday dismissed a petition filed by Andhra Pradesh Government seeking to vacate the stay on the transfer of a Superintendent of Police from Kurnool district to city.

The Hyderabad Bench of Central Administrative Tribunal comprising Justice P Swaroop Reddy and Ranjana Chowdary (member, administration) rejected the state government’s petition and the stay on the transfer order of the Kurnool district Superintendent of Police K Raghuram Reddy, shall continue till further orders.

The Superintendent of Police, who was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone), had moved the CAT challenging his “abrupt” transfer and the tribunal in October last week had stayed his transfer.

“The Central Administrative Tribunal has rejected the state government’s petition seeking to vacate the stay on the transfer of the SP.

The stay will continue till further orders,” the SP’s counsel J Sudheer said, adding the main petition seeking to set aside his transfer order is pending. - PTI
