HYDERABAD: The Humayunnagar police booked a case against Telugu Desam Party minority cell, city unit, president Shabaz Ahmed, on the charge of outraging modesty of a medical student and threatening her father on Tuesday.

The student's father, Arifuddin, complained to the police that he had disputes with Ahmed over the ownership of Hafia Plaza complex in Masab Tank. On Tuesday, he went to the complex, along with his daughter and wife, to discuss the matter with Ahmed.

"He charged that Ahmed tried to sexually assault his daughter and threatened to kill him by showing a revolver, Humayunnagar Inspector R. Pratap Reddy said. A case under Sections 354 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act was registered against the TDP leader.
