A seven-year-old case registered against Minister for Endowments C. Ramachandraiah, former Minister P. Brahmaiah and 19 others on April 6, 2006. on charges of abusing former Additional SP Lakshmi Reddy was struck down by Rajampet First Class Judicial Magistrate Sairam on Wednesday.
Mr. Ramachandraiah was Rajya Sabha member in Telugu Desam Party when the Rajampet Urban police registered a case after an altercation with police officials during a demonstration following the death of 11 persons in a house collapse on Rajampet main road during demolition of encroachments for road-widening.
One of the accused Moula died during trial.
The judge also struck down the charges on other accused including former Rajampet mandal president K. Ramaraju and TDP leaders V.S. Ameer Babu, B. Hariprasad, Akepati Srinivasulu Reddy, Para Subba Naidu, T. Lakshminarayana, I. Kumar, Viswanatha Naidu and M.V. Ramana.
