VIJAYAWADA: The Third Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court on Friday quashed a case against leaders of the Communist Party of India (CPI) Kolli Nageswara Rao, K. Subba Raju, Palla Surya Rao and others pertaining to the staging of a dharna in front of the Krishna District Cooperative Central Bank demanding rescheduling of farm loans after the cyclone in 2006.

Mr. Subba Raju said in a statement that the trial went on for three and half years and the party leaders Peteti Babu Rao and P. Subbulamma, against whom charges were framed, passed away during the period. He said that the party had never gone back on launching agitations for the larger interests of the public.
