Students of Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC) are in a celebratory mood after the recent campus placement drive made by the representatives of the TCS in their college.

As many as 228 students of the VRSEC alone were said to have been selected in the interviews, a record number of jobs by a recruiter in a single drive.

VRSEC campus placement officials and training teams said that the students were eagerly awaiting the arrival of many other companies with full confidence to do well. They said that the recent drive by TCS has boosted the morale of the students. VRSEC placement officer Vijaya Maruthi said on Saturday that while 550 students passed out of different engineering branches last year, a total of 196 students got selected in all campus placements drives during that year and 110 more students got jobs in off-campus route. This year, the number of passing out students was going up to 900 but there seemed to be good news with recruiting companies showing interest to offer more jobs this year, he said.

Moreover, the University of Wolverhampton, UK offered spot admissions to the final year B.Tech students seeking admission into MS courses on Saturday. University international officer Carl Adaway held interviews for the interested students, who came from not just the VRSEC but various other colleges as well.
