Scientific research has by and large been driven by the priorities set by the West and there is a need to break away from that and focus on establishing the scientific base of our traditional knowledge, executive director Chemveda Life Sciences and former scientist of Indian Institute of Chemical Technology J Madhusudhan Rao said.

Delivering the GJV Jagannadha Raju Endowment Lecture of the Andhra Pradesh Akademi of Sciences on “Opportunities in Natural Product Research” at Andhra University Department of Biotechnology here on Wednesday he said that the subject offered tremendous scope for study and research.
