WARANGAL: Superintendent of Police Shah Nawaz Qasim appealed to people to keep police informed about the incidents of child marriages and child labour.
Releasing a campaign poster brought out by the UNICEF on child marriages here on Saturday, Mr. Qasim said it was against law to perform marriage of girls below 18 years and boys below 21 years. Those violating the law would be sternly dealt with. He also urged traders not to employee children.
He wanted the people to pass on the information over toll free Nos. 1090 or 1091.
UNICEF district manager Rajasekhar and Women & Child Welfare Project Director Ramulu were present.
