Collector N. Mukteswara Rao on Thursday appealed to poets, artistes and writers to come under a single platform for organising various programmes in a festive atmosphere for the benefit of youth and students in connection with the World Telugu Conference to be held in Tirupati on December 27, 28 and 29.

Addressing a meeting of poets, artists and writers here, Mr. Rao called upon school teachers to take special measures to train students in reciting at least ten poems, and enlighten them about Telugu language and culture. He said the programmes on Telugu culture, traditions and history should be held at village, mandal, division and district-levels.

He asked them to prepare an action plan for holding literary programmes.
