Satyam group offers to set up statewide toll-free centres

HYDERABAD: Chief Information Commissioner C.D. Arha has said that the Satyam Group has offered to set up a State-wide call centre with a toll- free number.
Since the efficacy of the system was proved in the MCH, it could be replicated in his department too, he said.He asked State Information Officer R. Dileep Reddy to interact with MCH Commissioner Sanjay Jaju and other officials to study the call centre working. Mr. Jaju informed the CIC that more than 12,000 grievances were received from the centre run by a private agency.
Access to call centre was easy since Net access was not required but to successfully run it, digital back up was necessary. In an online grievance system, complaints directly go either to the Commissioner or senior officers concerned and then downward.
