Cabinet has misplaced priorities, says Devender Goud
Congress accused of trying to make an issue out of a non-issue
TDP screens video grab of Assembly proceedings to media
HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party on Friday termed as “shameful” the State Cabinet adopting a resolution condemning the remarks made by the leader of the Opposition in Assembly, N. Chandrababu Naidu, against Deputy Speaker G. Kuthuhalamma.
Addressing a press conference, Telugu Desam Legislature Party deputy leader T.Devender Goud said the Cabinet resolution comes at a time when the State was reeling under drinking water scarcity, poor power supply, rise in prices of essential commodities and deteriorating law and order.
Mr. Goud and other party leaders, J. R. Pushparaj, former Minister, D. Narendra Kumar, MLA, and C. Muthyam Reddy, president of the farmers’ wing of the party, charged that the Congress was trying to make an issue out of a non-issue.
The TDP again screened the video grab of the proceedings to the media and said it calls the bluff of the Congress, especially the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and the Legislative Affairs Minister, K. Rosaiah, who had hatched a conspiracy to defame Mr.Naidu .
Plea to Speaker
In a related development, a delegation comprising TDP Scheduled Caste cell president, Varla Ramaiah, and MLAs Lalitha Kumari and G. Sayanna, submitted a memorandum to the Assembly Speaker, K. R. Suresh Reddy’s office, seeking permission to file a complaint against Mr. Rosaiah for repeatedly calling Ms. Kuthuhalamma by her caste.
