The State government has given its nod for constructing a new High Level Bridge at Medikonduru village on the Hyderabad-Guntur Highway. The HLB would be built over a low level causeway on the crucial road linking Guntur to Hyderabad with an expected cost of Rs.4.30 crore, after persuasion from Rural Development Minister Dokka Manikya Vara Prasada Rao.

Principal Secretary, Roads & Buildings, Sam Bob in a letter written to Chief Engineer of R & B said that the Government has accorded all proposals, administrative and financial to build the HLB.

The bridge was sanctioned in 2008 after the visit of then Chief Minister Y.S Rajasekhara Reddy.

The road witnesses peak traffic volume and on an average 9,990 commercial vehicles daily and 44,174 passenger vehicles.
