Man held for selling laddu tokens
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTDs) vigilance sleuths on Thursday took an employee Umapathy, working on a contract basis with the Andhra Bank’s local branch, into custody for allegedly trying to sell the subsidised laddu tokens in the black-market. Over 300 tokens were recovered from him.
The accused was caught red-handedly at the laddu-issuing counter located adjacent to the main temple complex while trying to sell the tokens at exorbitant rates to the pilgrims. After preliminary inquiries, he was handed over to the police.
