HYDERABAD: Two members of a gang that steals jewellery or cash by diverting the attention of individuals were caught by the police on Tuesday in connection with the theft of a suitcase containing Rs. 21 lakh from the Kachiguda railway station ticket booking counter, which was committed recently.

In a joint operation, the Railway police and the Commissioner's Task Force teams caught the two persons reportedly at Delhi and brought them to the city. Police relied on the visuals recorded by secret cameras at the railway station to narrow down on suspects. After analysing the visuals, the police found that the theft was the handiwork of a gang based in Tamil Nadu and started tracking them. On a tip-off, they caught the duo and are interrogating them about other members of the gang.
