HYDERABAD: A speeding car rammed into a scooter killing an eight-year-old boy and injuring his mother and elder brother, all of whom were travelling on the two-wheeler at Banjara Hills on Tuesday night.

Death was instant for Saif, 8, who was flung off the scooter he was travelling on and fell on the road suffering bleeding injuries. His mother Asin Begum and brother, Sohail, 24, who was driving the two-wheeler, suffered injuries. Residents of Shaukatnagar near Road No. 14, Saif and his family members were returning home when the car hit their scooter near Road No. 4.

Angered over the boy’s death, locals gathered at the spot and tried to attack Naushad, who was driving the car. His mother and sister too were in the car when the accident occurred.

A group of locals and the victim’s relatives rushed to the police station and staged a demonstration seeking action against Naushad.
