The Kamepalli police on Tuesday registered a case against a married person, charging him with sexually exploiting a minor tribal girl at Basithnagar village in the mandal.

According to sources, B. Ramachandra Rao, 30, a farmer, allegedly exploited a 17-year-old girl, a farm worker, sexually by taking advantage of her innocence. Rao is already married and has two children.

He allegedly married the girl clandestinely three days ago.

On learning about the incident, the relatives of the girl grilled Rao and took him to task. He allegedly tried to hush up the matter with the help of some “elders” of the village.

However, the girl lodged a complaint against Rao accusing him of sexually exploiting her. The police registered a case under various sections, including 420 (cheating) and 376 (rape) against Rao.
