VISAKHAPATNAM: ‘ The Marriage Bureau for Rich People’ the plot of which was based on Visakhapatnam city and in which Visakhapatnam was portrayed very well, would ensure that the ‘city of destiny’ is well known to the world, as it would be read by millions of people the world over.

Lively session

This was what came out at the book release function held at the Pages Book shop here on Thursday. The author, Farahada Zama, who moved from Vizag to London in 1990, himself read out some passages on the dais and there was lively question answer session in which the author responded to questions by G. Anantaram and Meenkshi Anantaram, event Manager on various aspects of the book.

The flow was excellent and subtle humour with lovely under currents of philosophy with expressions like ‘if gold starts rusting what about iron?’ was the hall mark of the book, Mr. Anantaram said. On how he was able to incorporate latest changes and developments in the city, Mr. Farahada Zama said that he regularly visited Visakhapatnam and he wanted the world to know this beautiful city better.

Anurima Roy, Publicity Manager of Hachette India which published the book said that more than one lakh copies of the book had also been sold and it was translated into ten languages. Anil Nevatia of Pages thanked all participants.
