Functionaries of CPI frontal organisations burnt an effigy of Minister for Minorities Welfare Mohd. Ahmedullah in front of Kadapa Collectorate on Wednesday demanding registration of a criminal case against the Minister’s son Mohd. Ashrafullah and his followers alleging that they showered blows on them in Rachabanda programme in Kadapa municipal stadium yesterday.

AIYF district secretary N. Venkatasiva, A.P. Mahila Samakhya district secretary C. Basheerunnisa, AISF district secretary Krishna Chaitanya, Insaf district president K.C. Badulla, AITUC city president G. Venugopal, A.P. Rythu Sangham district president T. Ramasubba Reddy, A.P. Agricultural Workers Union district president K. Nagaraju, Dalita Hakkula Porata Samithi district honorary president Obulaiah and city president Jampanna, who led the protest, alleged that the Minister and his son were accompanied by anti-social elements and questioned inclusion of Mr. Ashrafullah's car in the Minister's convoy. The frontal organisations' leaders asserted that they would complain to the A.P. Human Rights Commission. They warned that they complain against the district administration in court and to the Lok Ayukta aleging abuse of office if it permitted the Minister's son's car in official convoys.

Leaders including Sankar, Ankusam, Ramadevi, Maheswar Reddy, participated.
