State Director General of Police K . Aravinda Rao has expressed happiness at the fading faction feuds in the district.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the DGP said that the ‘bomb' culture in the district which had been ruling the roost had been on the wane. The DGP said that followers of factional leaders had realised the futility of their actions and the government schemes like NREGS, which created employment for them, had discouraged them from identifying with the factional leaders. The DGP, however, expressed concern over the increasing number of road accidents in the district . He said that 571 people died in road accidents last year in the district. He said that the 14th APSP battalion now in Tadipatri which is ill equipped will be shifted to Anantapur if the government allotted 100 acres of land for the purpose.
