The police officials investigating the attempted abduction of a software engineer by two cab drivers in Madhapur are hamstrung by the blur images captured in the surveillance cameras installed at several places. Yet they are confident of nabbing the abductors shortly.
“We are facing problems in knowing the vehicle registration number as the CCTVs had captured poor images due to bad light. She boarded the cab at a bus stop near Inorbit Mall at around 8.30 p.m. Due to bad light we are unable to identify the vehicle,” a police official associated with the investigation said.
The 22-year-old techie was standing near the bus stop to return to the working women’s hostel in Gowlidoddi where she has been staying for the past two months when two persons came in a cab and offered the car service.
Trusting them, she boarded the vehicle, but the drivers soon started proceeding towards another route instead of going to the hostel.
Sensing danger, she started raising an alarm. The drivers panicked, abruptly dropped her on the roadside and escaped, the official explained.
