Sales staff of Big Bazar showcase their latent talent on the ramp
Organisers hold fashion show to announce
the arrival of fresh stocks
Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi performances also
VIJAYAWADA: A ‘fashion show’ organised by Big Bazar on Friday evening was a different ball game. It was not about long legs, high cheekbones and the mandatory vital statistics but about warm smiles and a cool disposition of the uninitiated who hit the ramp with vengeance.
A bunch of enthusiastic staff members of the mall, mostly sales boys and girls, combined into a surprise package that unfolded in one corner of the fourth floor, which was transformed into a chill out zone.
The makeshift dais, though disproportionate to match the immense talent of the unversed lot, served as a good platform for the participants to lay bare their latent skills. The organisers chose to adopt a novel stand to announce to the world that fresh stocks of garments, jewellery, footwear and other accessories had arrived for the festival season by showcasing them at the show.
Girls and boys strutted across the ramp sporting designer wear, casuals, trendy footwear and other accessories, drawing public appreciation, quite effortlessly.
Beginning with a brilliant performance of Bharatanatyam by Keerthi, the show went on treating the audience that comprised the buyers and the local media to a rare evening.
Kuchipudi dance by Santosh Kumar was outstanding. “The girls and boys were trained only for a couple of days. It is only their enthusiasm that came through shining in the glittering show. We thought it wise to give them a chance as it would serve the dual purpose of publicising about our products and giving them a platform to unwind,” said an elated Subodh Kumar, store manager, operations of Big Bazar. Regional Employment Officer V. Himabindu lighted the lamp marking the inaugural of the entertaining show.
