BJP leaders accuse Seemandhra leaders of denying Telangana people their due share
The formation of Telangana State is imminent. If the Congress goes back on its promise, the BJP government under the leadership of Narendra Modi will make realise the long-cherished dream of the people of the region, the party State unit president G. Kishan Reddy has said.
Taking part in a day-long protest demonstration on the Arts College premises here on Friday, the BJP leader said that the TDP and YSRC, which earlier spoke in favour of Telangana State, had subsequently gone back and are now obstructing the bifurcation process.
“The Union government should expedite the process of State division without further delay. The BJP will form government at Centre after 2014 elections. Our party will deliver the Telangana state if the Congress government fails to complete the process,” he declared to the cheering crowd that gathered at the demonstration.
Mr. Kishan Reddy accused the political leaders from Seemandhra region of misleading people on the separate Statehood issue without knowing the historical background of Telangana. “However, they (Seemandhra leader) can’t stop the process of State division,” he said.
If voted to power, the BJP will strive for industrial development in the region and revival of Telangana culture by promoting its traditional value, he promised.
Meanwhile, former MP Janga Reddy found fault with Seemandhra leaders for demanding a share in revenue from Hyderabad. He said that the successive leaders from the regions had exploited the people of Telanagana, denying the latter their due share and they still want to continue with the practice.
“Seemandhra leaders have never been lived up to their promises they had made to develop Telangana . Hence, the demand for the separate State is still a top priority for the people even after five decades,” he pointed out.
