HYDERABAD: The BJP has demanded the resignation of Home Minister, K. Jana Reddy for granting remission of sentence and releasing from jail, Muzeeb Ahmed, who was recently arrested in a fresh case related to terrorist activities.

BJP State president N. Indrasena Reddy, vice-president, S.V. Seshagiri Rao and general secretary K. Laxman told a news conference here on Saturday that the Home Minister owned responsibility for the release of the dreaded youth who was first arrested in connection with the killing of a police officer in the city 13 years ago. His latest arrest in the wake of interception of a truck with weapons near Ajmer in Rajasthan a few days ago confirmed that the State Government did not observe caution in granting remission.

They blamed the State police for not playing an active role in checking terrorist activities.
