The BJP will shortly come out with a “charge-sheet” on 101 wrongs committed during the past nine years by the Congress government in the State.

At a press conference here on Thursday, State BJP general secretary, N.V.S.S. Prabhakar, lashed out at the “misrule” of the Congress government since 2004. During the past nine years, three Congress Chief Ministers -- Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, K. Rosaiah and N. Kiran Kumar Reddy committed 101 mistakes.

The people of the State suffered due to price rise, power cuts, water shortage, atrocities on Dalits and women and heavy taxation. He said that taxes to the tune of Rs.30,000 crore were levied since 2004 with water cess, house tax, registration charges, RTC bus fares and electricity charges, among others being hiked steeply. He ridiculed the claim of Congress leaders that the State government was welfare-oriented and questioned “how a government which reduced the number of beneficiaries in schemes could claim to be a welfare government”.

Mr. Prabhakar also criticised the Chief Minister for not forwarding the resignations of Sabitha Indra Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao and said his government could not claim to be free of corruption and scams.
