BJP Seemandhra president Mr. K. Haribabu said the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh would be developed in the lines of Gujarat by fully harnessing the potential of natural resources. Top priority will be given to development of 10 seaports.

At present, there are only four ports of focus -- Visakhapatnam, Gangavaram, Kakinada and Krishnapatnam. The target is to attract Rs. 40,000 crore investment into the region in the next five years, Mr. Haribabu said in the party meeting held here on Friday. Emphasis will be laid on development of the fisheries sector in nine coastal districts and on tapping the resources available in Rayalaseema.

“The government sitting in Hyderabad could not visualise issues and development needs of Seemandhra. People should send maximum number of BJP candidates to the Assembly and Parliament and strengthen the hands of Narendra Modi in delivering the promises,” Mr. Haribabu appealed to the voters.

Mr. Haribabu pointed out that the UPA at the Centre would have got Telangana Bill passed in Parliament with the support of its allies even if the BJP had opposed it.

Former Union Minister D. Purandeswari, who recently joined the BJP, expressed anguish that repeated pleas to the Congress leadership to ensure justice to Seemandhra had resulted in vain.
