‘He has attended parties hosted by Andhra MPs'
BJP senior leader Ch. Vidyasagar Rao has demanded that Justice Srikrishna committee member V.K. Duggal should own moral responsibility and step down from his post in the committee as he had insulted the people of Telangana region by attending the parties hosted by Andhra MPs.
Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said that the Justice Srikrishna committee was constituted by the Union government to submit a report about the creation of separate Telangana State. The committee members should be neutral and should not favour any particular region as it was the sentimental issue of Telangana region, he noted and added that Duggal had insulted the people of Telangana region by attending party hosted by Andhra MP T. Subbarami Reddy.
“He (Duggal) can attend any number of parties hosted by Andhra leaders as an individual. But as the Srikrishna committee member, he should not have attended the party”, he pointed out. He said that the Congress MPs from the Telangana region were also finding fault with Duggal for attending the party hosted by Andhra MP.
He demanded that the government should remove Duggal from the committee or else at least Justice Srikrishna should initiate action against Duggal for diluting the sanctity of the committee. He said that the government was planning to encourage the Srikrishna committee to submit report against the formation of Telangana Statehood.
Accordingly, the government was supplying the police department with sophisticated weapons to suppress the statehood movement in the region after December 31 deadline, he added. He also flayed the State government for handing over precious forests lands to a private firm for the excavation of diamonds in the Nallamalla forests.
BJP district president M. Arjun Rao said that the party State president Kishan Reddy would be visiting Karimnagar town on November 16 to attend party workers meeting and demand the union government to introduce bill for the formation of Telangana State in the ensuing parliament session.
BJP Town president Bandi Sanjay, party leaders Ramana Reddy, B Jaganmohan Rao, Harikumar Goud and others were also present.
