NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday asked Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Government to publish a white paper on the status of irrigation projects drawing water from river Godavari and accused the Government of scuttling such projects in Telengana region.
Party national secretary Bandaru Dattatreya told correspondents here that there were conflicting reports on the status of such projects especially `Pranahita'. He said as per the reports by the Water and Power Conservation Society, there was a shortage of 80n TMC of water for the project.
The BJP leader said that Dr. Reddy should call an all-party meeting and assure the people of Telengana region, whose seven districts come under the project.
