Congress of luring voters: Dattatreya

  • One poll observer for each Assembly constituency sought
  • Government urged to come to the rescue of beedi workers

KARIMNAGAR: BJP State president Bandaru Dattatreya has urged the Election Commission to depute special observers for the smooth and peaceful conduct of by-election to the Karimnagar Parliament constituency.

Mr. Dattatreya launched the party's electioneering in Karimnagar town by organising road shows on Wednesday evening. Earlier, the district party leaders accorded him a warm reception by taking out a huge motorcycle rally.

Talking to newsmen, he urged the EC to depute at least one observer for each mandal and Assembly constituency to ensure smooth conduct of elections. He charged that the Congress, which was scared of defeat, was making a mockery of democracy in the by-elections. It was desperately luring the voters by offering sports kits and money in the constituency.
