The BJP State president G. Kishan Reddy said that Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh should not set foot on Telangana ‘gadda' till he announces a decision in favour of separate Telangana State.

Addressing a road show here on Thursday, he said the Prime Minister should come to the State only after keeping his party's promise made to the Telangana people during elections.

Demanding that the Congress led UPA government introduce the Bill on Telangana in the coming Budget session, he said the Congress Ministers, MLAs and MPs should not attend the Prime Minister's programme unless he assures creation of separate Telangana.

Dr. Singh should also grant a special package prior to the announcement of separate Statehood before his arrival in the State as Telangana was meted out injustice by the successive governments all these years. The Chevella-Pranahitha project needs to be declared a national project, he said.

Mr. Kishan Reddy's Telangana Poru Yatra entered the district at Pocharam village in this mandal from Medak district. He offered special pooja at Edupayala before coming here. Thereafter, he embarked on road show as part of his two-day tour in the district.

At the public meeting at Yellareddi the BJP president accused Congress and TDP of deceiving Telangana people by backtracking from their election promise. “People will not tolerate any further delay on Telangana and would give a fitting lesson to both the parties if they did not make their stand clear,” he said.

The party floor leader in the Assembly Y. Lakshminarayana said the Pranahitha-Chevella project would never be completed if the government allotted paltry sums for the mega project costing an estimated Rs.50,000 crores.

The road show proceeded through Pitlam, Bichkunda, Banswada and Bodhan before coming to Nizamabad in the night.
