Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has invited applications for Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award for 2012 for those excelling in quality either in manufacturing or service sector.
The period under review is from April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012. Five awards will be given for large scale, small scale manufacturing and one each for large scale service and small scale service sector organisations. Apart from these, there will be commendation certificates for large and small scale organisations in manufacturing and service sectors.
The last date for receipt of completed application forms is August 19.
Organisations winning best of all awards will get a cash award of Rs.5 lakh. Other award winners will be given a cash award of Rs.2 lakh. The recipients of commendation certificates will get Rs.1 lakh each.

Informative workshops/seminars will be held at various locations of the BIS from the last week of June to mid-July.
