: Bihar Governor Devananda Konwar on Saturday was all praise for the historical monuments and temples in Srikakulam district after visiting Sri Suryanarayana Swami temple at Arasavilli and Sri Kurmam temple. Chief priest of the temple Ippili Shankara Sarma and others welcomed the Governor in a traditional manner and performed special prayers.
They also explained the importance of the Sun god temple.
The temple authorities of the Sri Kurmam said that Lord Vishnu was worshipped in the form of tortoise.
Later, Mr.Devananda Konwar interacted with the media persons in a meeting organized by Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ).
Press Academy member Nalli Dharma Rao, APUWJ-Srikakulam wing President N.Eswara Rao, General Secretary SV Satya Prasad and others felicitated the Governor. Mr. Devananda distributed clothes to the poor people on the occasion.
Nalli Monajgna performed ‘Shiva Tandavam’ under the guidance of dance master Srikanth.
The governor and others congratulated Monajgna and team members for their performance.
