Children showcase creative talents
‘Bhadradri Balotsavam', a two-day children festival, commenced on a grand scale in Bhadrachalam on Sunday with scores of children from across the district showcasing their innate creative talents in various literary, cultural and other competitive events on the inaugural day of the event.
A wide range of competitive events were organised under the aegis of Talluri Panchaksharayya Charitable Trust on the inaugural day. The well conceived inaugural event has not only provided a perfect platform for the children to unravel their creative flair but also a rare opportunity to interact and understand the rich cultural heritage of the temple town.
Apart from the cultural events including classical dance contests, the literary and art competitions like Kavitha Rachana, Padha Anthakshari in both Telugu and English languages besides spot drawing and Chitra Vishleshana events were organised on the first day. The traditional tribal dances and other interesting programmes would mark the events on the second day of ‘Bhadradri Balotsavam' on Monday.
The Zilla Parishad chairperson G. Vijaya Lakshmi, Bhadrachalam MLA Kunja Satyavathi, Kothagudem MLA K. Sambasiva Rao, the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Project Officer Praveen Kumar and others were present at the inaugural ceremony. The speakers showered praises on the organisers for conducting the children's festival at the temple town and promoting creative skills of children.
