Motorists violating traffic rules in city beware. Armed with 200 new digital cameras, the Hyderabad Traffic Police are gearing up to click pictures of erring vehicle drivers and impose more number of fines through e-challans.

Each traffic police station would be given 10 of these newly-acquired cameras facilitating the traffic policemen to catch more number of motorists breaking traffic rules, Traffic Police Additional Commissioner, C.V. Anand, told a press conference on Saturday. This is to control violations like jumping signals, driving in wrong directions and wrong parking of vehicles. Already, the traffic police have 198 digital cameras. The traffic police had also acquired two Grecho line laser machines, through the traffic development fund created by HMDA, to paint roads for zebra crossings, stop-lines and directions.
