KADAPA: Girl students of Municipal Corporation Urdu Girls high school took out a rally on Friday in connection with the International Women's Day which is observed on Monday.
Girl Child Development Officer in Rajiv Vidya Mission Anupama Vani and assistant statistical officer Guruswamy flagged off the rally.
Discrimination of girls and women was still prevalent and could be eradicated by improving education among Muslim girls, as educating a girl would lead to education of an entire family, Ms. Vani said. Mr. Guruswamy exhorted parents to educate their daughters on par with sons, to help women forge ahead.
They formed a human chain at Seven Roads junction here.
In charge headmaster of the school S. Javida Khanam, school complex joint secretary Mahabub Shareef, STU State Minority Convenor Iliyas Basha, teachers, students and education volunteers participated.
