No secular or progressive force will have truck with TDP: Muddukrishnama Naidu

Telugu Desam Party's only aim is to grab powerIts struggle along with CPI(M) against petro price hike is just issue-based

Hyderabad: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has cautioned the CPI(M) against the "machinations" of the Telugu Desam Party and advised it not to fall into its trap.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, G. Muddukrishnama Naidu, MLA, said that the Telugu Desam party was trying to mislead secular parties by claiming that it had distanced itself from communal forces.

Charge against TDP

History, however, showed that the TDP's only aim was to grab power somehow and it would "use and throw" anyone for the sake of winning a few seats, he alleged.

He also pointed out to TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu's appeal to his party cadres to go ahead with seat adjustments with the CPI(M) at the local level and urged the latter to be wary of his designs.

Distant dream

On the CPI(M) decision to launch a joint agitation with the TDP against petro price hike, he said it was only an issue-based decision. The CPI(M) central leadership had already clarified that the decision was confined to the agitation and did not mean a step towards formation of the Third Front as Mr. Naidu was dreaming.

No secular and progressive force would have a truck with Mr. Naidu whose anti-people and anti-poor policies were well-known, he said.

The TDP had not changed its policies and Mr. Naidu would always remain the favourite of the rich and the World Bank unlike the Congress whose rule was aimed at improving the lot of the poor, Mr. Muddukrishnama Naidu added.
