Workshop on ‘Capacity building of women managers' held
Irrespective of gender differences, one should possess high degree of honesty and commitment to command respect in the society, observed Police Training College principal, J. Parimala Hanna Nutan.
Fighting gender bias
Taking part in the valedictory function of five-day workshop on ‘Capacity building of women managers in higher education' at the Kakatiya University campus here on Sunday, Ms. Parimala said the general public expect women officers to be very honest and considerate in solving problems. The women employees should live up to the expectations which would help them fight the gender bias at work place. “When people are with you, you can fight with any force. To gain that strength and support, you need to be possessing high degree of honesty and work mindedness,” she told the participants.
Local coordinator, Dr. Shamitha Voditala said that 24 participants from different disciplines working at different levels in universities and colleges have participated in the workshop.
Apart from lectures by experts from varied fields, practical training involving participants in group discussions and interactive sessions were also held.
University Grants Commission coordinating officer, K. Sitarama Rao, New Delhi University Centre for Women Studies former Director Susheela Koushik and others were present.
