Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare Association is holding a State-level all-party convention on June 18 on Backward Classes reservations.

Leaders of BC communities, employees, sarpanches, students, besides MPs and MLAs are expected to attend the meet being organised at Munnurukapu Bhavan, Kachiguda. Association president R. Krishnaiahsaid the convention was being organised in support of the demands like 50 per cent reservations for BCs in Legislative Assemblies, reservations in promotions and implementation of 27 per cent quota for OBCs in Central educational institutions.

APCC chief K. Keshava Rao, T. Devender Goud (TDP), B. Dattatreya (BJP) and leaders of Left parties, BSP, Janata Party and Samajwadi Party would participate.
