Around 42,849 farmers lost their crops in the hailstorm last summer
KARIMNAGAR: Collector Sandeep Kumar Sultania has instructed the bankers to reschedule loans of farmers, who had lost their crops in the hailstorm and rain which had lashed 19 mandals last summer.
At a special bankers meeting on Tuesday, he said that a total of 42,849 farmers have lost their crops in various parts of the district during the last summer hailstorm.
He directed the bankers to provide fresh loans to the ryots to enable them to take up farming activities.
He said that the farmers lost paddy in 19,496 hectares, maize in 1621 hectares, 1,180 mango, 171.1 hectares of chillies and 176 hectares of vegetables.
