VISAKHAPATNAM: Special Judge for CBI cases S. Bajrang Babu, in his judgment in a bank fraud case, has convicted Abdul Aziz, the then Bank Manager, Bank of Baroda, Uppaluru branch in Krishna district, and four others and sentenced them to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of two years each and pay a fine ranging from Rs.1,000 to Rs.5,000, in default of which they have to undergo further simple imprisonment.

They were charged under various sections and separate sentences had been pronounced, but they would run concurrently, the Special Judge said.

The judgment was pronounced on Wednesday.

Abdul Hafeez, Abdul Basheer, Sambangi Srinivasa Rao alias Srinu, and Maradani Venkeswara Rao were the others who were convicted in the case.

One more accused, Syed Nooruidin, died while the trail was going on.
