State has entered into an agreement with a company: Kavuri

Eluru MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao has said Bandar, which was one of the richest towns in the country once, would get the past glory with the construction of port.

Speaking to the newsmen here on Sunday the MP said once the port was completed, Machilipatnam would have all round development and many industries would come up on the sea coast, he said.

Already, the State government has entered in to an agreement with a construction company and some land has been handed over to the company and the Centre is ready to take up the project with Rs.3,500 crore .

However, there were some technical litigations and the government would solve them soon and take up the port construction, he said.

As regards new railway lines, Mr. Sambasiva Rao the 170 km Kovvur-Bhadrachalam line would be sanctioned in the new budget.

Stating that Andhra Pradesh stood first in fish exports in the country, the Eluru MP said so far fish was being exported to West Bengal and North East States.

Efforts would be made to get new trains from Bandar to Chennai and Mumbai which will boost up the State revenue, he said an praised Government Whip Perni Venkataramaiah for his efforts in getting the port sanctioned.
