VISAKHAPATNAM: People must react in the right manner and extend their cooperation to the major steps being taken by the Government to control mosquitoes that spread dengue fever, Joint Collector Sandeep Kumar Sultania said here on Friday. He was speaking at a meeting organised as part of the dengue awareness rally by schoolchildren.

Mr. Sultania, who flagged off the rally, said that such rallies would be organised every Friday at the district headquarters and mandal headquarters.

He wanted schoolchildren to explain to their neighbours and others the steps to be taken to eliminate the breeding of mosquitoes. The rally started at the Collectorate and reached the GVMC Main Office via King George Hospital, District Courts Complex and Jagadamba Junction. The participants drew the attention of passers-by through placards and slogans on the steps to be taken to control dengue fever.
