It is part of UNICEF initiative through NGOs

UNICEF has initiated an intensive campaign in the State to review the status of child rights and the situation by involving children through NGOs.

The AP Alliance for Child Rights (APACR), a forum of NGOs, networks and child rights activists will try to provide a platform to the children to express their views on their status and suggest recommendation for the government and the political representatives for their actions to building voices for children. As part of child rights week, the NGOs on Thursday launched an awareness campaign in Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts with the involvement of the government agencies.

Preparatory meeting

To kick-off this campaign, a one day preparatory meeting was organised on October 29 at Hyderabad to the district-level facilitators to have an in-depth understanding and information on child rights and its current status in AP.

In North coastal districts, Dhimsa Foundation, a network of voluntary organisations, will conduct district-level consultations. Meeting will be conducted in Srikakulam and East Godavari through Sweep NGO, in Vizianagaram through Focus and Balasahyoga NGOs on November 12 and here through Nature on November 13 at AU Platinum Jubilee Guesthouse.
